Absences
Reporting Absences or Tardies (arriving after 9:00 a.m. or leaving before 3:55 p.m.):
Report all absences or tardies from school as soon as possible by calling the office at 502-222-1451 or send an email to ocmsattendance@oldham.kyschools.us.
Parent and Doctor’s Notes:
· You have 8 Parent Notes to use for the entire school year and unlimited Doctor Notes.
· Any absence or tardy from school must be accompanied by a Parent Note or Doctor Note within 5 days.
· Notes can be turned in at the office front desk or emailed to ocmsattendance@oldham.kyschools.us.
· No note = the absence or tardy remains unexcused.
Unexcused Events (absences and tardies):
Both full day absences and tardies (arriving after 9:00 a.m. or leaving before 3:55 p.m.) qualify as “events”
· 3 unexcused = First letter warning
· 6 unexcused = Second letter warning
· 9 or more unexcused = Truancy Referral
· 15 or more unexcused = Truancy and OCBE reports it to the county attorney for appropriate court intervention under KRS 610.030(6) law.
